Taiwan - Day 2

Woke up at 7:50am! Coz..the tour bus arrives at 8:20am.. gotta bathe..and dash to the restaurant to get some dough to munch while walking to the lobby.
Tour bus's aircon broke down! argh* but tour guide promised to fix it when we reach the next destination, which is not very far away *phew* it feels weird to see the driver on this side..haha..i kept thinking that i have to board the bus from the driver's side..argh..irritating..

While waiting for some 'late-comers', this is the view outside my hotel at 8:20am!
1st destination.. about 10 mins journey.. it's like our "Victoria Concert Hall" or "Esplanade". The Golder Horse Award is held here.. and major concerts toO!
Look so oriental right? hee~ the wind is so strong! We can't go in to explore further as it's under some reconstruction..sad..
My Parents.. apparently, my dad knows alot about China history...so he goes on and on, telling me how this place came about...etc...
While waiting for the bus.... these birdies are everywhere!
On our way to the next destination...which is about 30 mins.. tour guide entertained us all the way..haha.. took a picture of this building along the way.. coz i think it's so...er.. interesting.. you can't get to see this in Singapore! haha..so.. old..and.. er.. complicating...ya...a complicated building..
From City view to Country side view..Sea...
This place is called "Ye Liu".. a place where many students come here for Geography lesson because of the natural subjects formed..or whatever you call that..
There...go on and read about it..
This is their "Underwater World".. so old! this was reconstructed..as it was destroyed by HUGE tidal waves sometime back then.. and it wiped out the whole thing..
There... look like mushrooms!
ya..my dad seems to know alot about geography too.. there he goes again...explaining all the theories which i've learnt in secondary school, but forgotten!
This statue is for remembrance.. of a man who saved a young kid who was drowning, but failed to save himself.
The ever famous structure of Ye Liu.. this is called "Queen Elizabeth's Head"..known as "Nu Huang Tou".. really look like a head yeah? This is a highly protected area with cameras all around..we can't touch it at all! The tour guide says, in years to come, the Queen's neck will be 'broken'.. the neck gets thinner and thinner every year.. (my dad's coincidently at the background!)
Tada..do you see what i see? a slipper!
took a picture with the slipper..haha..and that 'red line' is to prevent tourist from stepping outta boundary..
that looks like a goddess!...and my dad wants to have a photo with it... because...
He says it looked like a penis! haha...wonder how he derived at that.. haha~
Went "Jiu Fen" after Ye Liu.. was a 30mins drive as well.. we're going to have our lunch here.. it's a very long street, selling the traditional stuff of Taiwan..and many small souveniers to get here..spent 2 hours here..this place is on a mountain.. and the driveway is rather narrow..

When you walk to the end of the street, you'll find a pot of gold!..haha..no lah.. you'll see a view from the mountain top..
Tour Guide says that this place used to be a gold mine...but was closed because...er...no more gold left..haha..but opened again for filming of dunno what movie..
This is the Eldest Princess outta 3 Princesses of forgotten what tribe.. this tribe faces "extinction" as only about 250 of them are left.. hmm.. the 2nd princess was here too.. but, i think 1st princess's prettier... 3rd one is not around...
Went to this memorial hall next.. er.. the tour guide makes it sound so scary.. he said..when you go in, must behave yourself..because thousand of "eyes" are staring at you.. he's referring to the "tablets".. oh man..
Anyway, this is like a tourist attraction as the soldiers changes shift every hour and everytime they change shift, there will be a "marching procedure"..which ends up like a "show" for tourist to watch..Mom's checking out on that soldier if he actually moves! haha~
Look at the 2 soldiers.. they're really stiff! this is the most inner part of the memorial hall where the "eyes" are.... er hem... So many Japanese girls! i think they happen to be there for a tour too! from some high school.. all dressed rather formally..
山之林- we went for hot spring! tour guide says there's only 3 hot springs in Taiwan that's sulphuric.. and 2 of them's in Taipei.... and ya.. the moment i stepped outta the bus, i smell sulphur.. so smelly! There's public and private pool.. i wanted to try the public one..and when i stepped in...OMG..haha...*see no evil* i opted for a private room instead.. *shy* my mom, went for the public one! haha~ was told not to bathe after that..so as to let the minerals "sink" into your skin..etc...
Our first proper dinner in Taipei! at Shilin..
I went back to the Hot spring after dinner...coz i left my ring...necklace..bracelet at the room! i called them up and luckily, they found my stuff...gotta take a cab back to retrieve them.. i went alone.. told my parents that i wanna try taking the train in taipei myself.. and that i'll return to hotel before 12midnight...so...i went.. roaming in Taiwan all by myself! it's a.. scary feeling.. coz, i know no one, and no one knows me! and haha, did not take train... lazy..took cab! and taxi driver was nice.. he talk about the places he drove by.. like my personal tour guide! and he even stopped by a "bin lang si shi".. which is not pretty at all!
night is still young.. dropped off at Xi Men Ding.. and walked back to hotel from there~ of course.. shopped along the way~ :)
