Japan Day 5

planned to wake up early, but failed.. for the past 5 days, we've been over-sleeping.. haha~ the obasan pressed the doorbell and woke us up :( she gotta come into our room to serve us our breakfast.. and we're still in bed while she prepared the stuff.. so paiseh :(

Japanese-style breakfast! we were still full from last night's dinner.. and we were shocked to see that breakfast's just as good as dinner *faint*

right after breakfast, we bought tickets to hop on a ferry.. which departs hourly.. just one round the Lake Toya...the ferry station's right behind our hotel.. just a stone's throw away...

like a castle.... oh.. and it's raining! can you tell? :)

a little island... so cute! like a bun!

we're like the only one that's outta the shelter.. other tourist were all in the ferry.. coz it's drizzling quite abit.. the ferry ride ended in about 45 mins' time.. we alighted and took photos at the park.. behind our hotel.. you can see our hotel right there! our big castle ferry!
the park behind out hotel.. too cold to take a walk here.. wanted to go to the bear farm.. but no time :( gotta rush for the next train to Hakodate..
Our Hotel... Hotel Grand Toya : Boo!

We're really not so fond of our hotel.. lousy hot spring bath.. old lift.. corridor smells.. sigh.. the ONLY good part of it is... that meals are served in the room.. and it's really good food! Oh! and...our bedroom view's the Lake Toya~ Toya Kanko Hotel : Yeah!

We like this hotel alot! Free Internet! Hot Spring! Lake View! Grand Lobby!

our Hotel not-so-Grand Toya's lobby...we took a bus to the train station... in the train... Comfort Hotel in Hakodate~ we left our hotel room right away to check out an electronics store at the next station hoping to get a good and cheap camera!

Had ramen for dinner at a supposedly damn good ramen shop with an ever-popular-ramen.. but I hate the porky taste of it.. first time I did not finish my ramen.. and had to find an ice cream to 'cover' up the porky taste lingering in my mouth...eeeks..

--------------------------------------------------

In summary, you can give Lake Toya a miss.. Nothing much to do there.. and the trip from Noboribetsu to Toya.. and Toya to Hakodate... is very very long.. and ticket's not cheap either.. would rather spend one more day shopping in Sapporo :)

Japan Day 4

The view from our room's window....

we can see Hell Valley from our room~

We went for a one more round of hot spring bath before our breakfast.

Check out time...
we left our luggage at the reception, and went out to the streets...
we bought sweet potato cake and of course... our daily dosage of ice cream!
here's a postbox!
Right infront of Hotel Dai-ichi.. GEYSER~
and the loud booming sound's really loud!
okie! start of our hike!
There so many places to explore!
We're gonna explore as many places as we can!
Starting point!
We're going to the Hell Valley first...
I think why Hell Valley's called 'Hell Valley' because of the smoke...
and it sure stinks of sulphur!
Tessen Pond~
We walked up-hill...
Stopping for a photo!
It's so hot! though its winter.. till Iris removed her stockings halfway through our hike *keke*
Okie.. we're nearing the next stop~
Ta Da~
Oyunuma~
Mt Hiyori.. an active volcano!
We're going down-hill now.. I collected 2 rocks from here!
Beware!
We're right at the foot of Mt. Hiyori!
Along the road side...
We're heading to the foot bath...
a mini "water-fall"~
we removed our boots and start soaking our feet! the water's warm.. not hot..

going nearer the "water-fall"...
other tourists came equipped with towels to wipe their feet, we used tissue :( okok... I littered.. Iris took a photo of the crime me committed :( guess wat? she littered too!
a walk back to our hotel... the hike took us about 3hours..
stopping along a front porch of a family.. so pretty!
Lurve this hotel!
we took a bus to Noboribetsu station.. bought a train ticket.. and we're heading towards Lake Toya station!
Took a bus from Lake Toya station to our hotel.. and luckily, our hotel is rather near the bus stop!
we changed into our yukata straight away! & explored Hotel Grand Toya abit...it's totally not GRAND at all.. so different from the pictures posted on the internet :( but... our dinner made it all worth while!
an Obasan came into our room and set up our dinner... yes.. right in our room!
just look at our dinner!
one big tub of rice!
now it's gone!

After dinner, we went out to buy ice cream(again)! and...went into another hotel to use their free internet..wahaha...

gonna sleep early tonight.. will explore Lake Toya early next morning!
