Japan -Day17- Home Sweet Home-

Toru didn't work today either..it's a public holiday.. woke up at 10am.. packed our bags til about 1130am.. finally, it's time to go home.. sobz.. Toru called a cab for us.. and our luggage filled up the whole boot and the passenger seat too! Reached Kichijoji Station.. Ernest and Toru went to buy the limousine bus ticket to Narita Airport while I looked after 9 luggage.. haha...

left Kichijoji at about 1230pm and reached Narita airport at about 230pm.. Bernard's already there.. He went to sent Lynn off for the 1130am flight.. Lynn's flying on SQ, while the rest of us coincidentally..all on the same flight on UA.. Checked in all our luggage, to find that Ernest and my luggage are all 'over-weight'! we gotta pay about 3000 yen per KG if not for Moreen's help... *phew* she managed to help us check in our luggage.. we're like 18KG over the weight limit.. could have bought another air ticket if we actually paid for it!

Reached Changi at 12midnight.. surprised to find QC and Veron at the arrival hall! my HP was off..and i didn't get their msgs at all..besides, QC couldn't get car but they still came down! so touched! i miss the 2 guys like anything! so glad they came!

once i stepped foot outta the airport, down came my first drop of perspiration..so hot! i miss the cold cold winter of Japan! took a cab back home..thanks to Veron and QC, if not for them..i don't think i can carry all my luggage back to my house.. hee~ it was already 130am while i unpacked my stuff.. i distributed the souveniers to them...just some small stuff here and there..hope they like it though :) then..we met up with Ernest for supper at Thomson.. we had prata! really craved for local food man! finally.. i let QC drive my car back.. and i touched my pillow at 430am..

Home Sweet Home..

Japan..I'll be back!

Japan -Day16- DisneySea

Changed my appointment to 11am instead.. couldn't wake up *sobz* Lynn came to meet me again at Kichijoji..of course..she went on to do her shopping while i dyed my hair.. Ernest went to meet her for breakfast...and i finished my hair at about 1pm.. All of us then, met at Tokyo station at 230pm, to go to DisneySea together!
Didn't take much photos as it's really very very cold.. and I've been to DisneySea before... so, shall give photo-taking a miss..

besides, my camera's at Toru's place! I've reminded both the guys to bring it out for me as i was charging the battery earlier on in the morning.. but BOTH the guys forgot! argh..
so..these photos are taken by Toru..and the rest are in Bernard's Camera...
came at 3pm.. thinking we can get the halfday pass...it's cheaper of course.. but half-day pass is only for DisneyLand.. so sad.. we gotta pay the full price.. should have came earlier...
the most memorable ride was Tower or Terror.. the wait at the queue was a freaking 1.5hours i think! and it's icey cold! but the ride was very thrilling and i think it left a deep impression in all of us! Indeed mark the finale of our last night in Japan :(
went back to pack.. and slept early.. gotta wake up early to pack again.. too many stuff!

Japan -Day15- Odaiba/Kichijoij/Pub

Our plan is to go DisneySea today.. Toru's not working.. but he didn't wanna join us because he said the weather forecast said it would be 'rainy'.. so he'll give it a miss.. so Ernest & I went ahead to meet the rest first and then decide again on the plan..
it's indeed raining.. early in the morning when i opened the door, Toru shoved an umbrella to me.. i told him i dun like to carry umbrella around, but he insisted.. so i brought...and i'm glad i brought! Ernest left home earlier to Shibuya to withdraw money and i think he got caught in the rain *brRrrRr* Look at how strong the wind is! I'm laughing at Lynn's distorted umbrella!

the wind's really very strong.. and so cold! we're at Odaiba by the way..
decided to fill our stomach first before going out into the cold again.. well, we must keep our stomach warm at least! Queueing up to go into the restaurant...
it was a long wait.. for our food.. a really long wait.. so bored... till i played with the syrups...
nice?! flower with a stalk.. it's wet tissue ...hee~
flower with more petals! waited and waited... finally..the food came..........
and i tell you, it's definately worth the wait! it's the nicest baked cheese rice with egg and bbq chicken I've ever eaten! i gobbled it all up.. it's really very very nice.. really the nicest i've ever tasted!
some other shots while waiting for food... i took out the Hello Kitty Cookie i've bought..
decided to eat it.. the cookie is in the shape of Hello Kitty!
ya...and it broke into half :( Sobz...
my 'best friend'! haha...decided to share my Hello Kitty cookie with her!
half-half! (Basically, we're just cam-whoring)..
the ever famous Odaiba 'rainbow bridge'! dunno why it's called rainbow bridge.. i guess from a certain angle on fair weather days... you can see rainbow.. but definately not today.. the bridge is 570m long! we can actually walk on it! 9am to 9pm in summer and 10am to 6pm in winter.. but it's too cold..then dun wanna walk! there are 2 walkways..one on each side.. views of Mount Fuji and Tokyo Tower can be seen on each side of the bridge..
and Statue of Liberty.. no fire leh.. Bernard kept saying Liberty's tired as she's standing on only one leg... hee~ anyway, we decided to give DisneySea a miss..it's really too chilly for anything! The guys went to Akihabara again while Lynn and I went to Kichijoji.. i wanna get my haircut, while Lynn does her shopping..
This is my BEFORE haircut picture... it's all straight.. honestly, i'm a little nervous how it'll turn out to be like...
and this is my AFTER haircut picture! My Hairdresser Hata-san.. he's 29 this year.. and he worked in London for 4 years, Germany for 1 year..and travelled many European countries.. he's the only English speaking hairdresser there.. i said my hair's always very straight and wanted a change.. and he curled my hair! i almost freaked out when i saw myself in the mirror and i refuse to meet the guys at the pub.. but all of them preferred this hairstyle to my previous one.. hmm..and Toru actually offered to lend me his curler the next day to curl my hair! keke~
Went to Toru's friend's shop.. they sell Yaki-Tori.. it's really very good! of course, there's alcohol to go along with the food..Japanese drink alot! it's freezing cold outside... and the fan's actually a warmer.. Bernard told me to hold his shirt down while he removes his sweater.. but i lift it up instead! wahhaha.. wanna see his belly! weEeEE~
Bernard, Toru and I!~ CheEsE~
Cheers! Lynn and I~ Beer.....
I had one mug of beer.. and i was so thirsty that i drank Bernard's beer too..and i drank a glass of cocktail too.. and ended up drinking Bernard's one too..hee.. very very thirsty after all the yaki-toris..... left the place at about 1130pm.. Lynn and Bernard gotta catch the last train back to hotel...by the way, Moreen didn't join us..she's probably resting in the hotel...
Toru talks alot when he's strolling at Inokashira Park and after he drinks..that night he drank quite abit.. so when he got home, indeed..he talked alot..and he even took his electric guitar out to play..

Toru's playing the electric guitar.. i'm so shocked at how well he played.. he learnt e.guitar all by himself! i asked him how often he practised.. on the days when he's working.. about 2 - 3 hours when he gets home from work..on weekends, he practise 7 - 8 hours! I'm so motivated to get home to practise 7 - 8 hours on my piano and violin.. *er hem* i hope i can do it man!
Made an appointment with Hata-san at 10am tomorrow.. Gonna dye my hair tmr!
we slept at 3am today *yawn*

Experiment!!!

This experiment is done.. to feed my curiousity. I always wondered.. when we're standing in the MRT train.. the train moves.. but why issit that we jump, we still end up on the same spot.. after this experiment on the bullet train, i concluded that our MRT is not fast enough.. see what happens when Bernard jumps ON THE SPOT on the fast-moving Shinkansen!

Japan -Day14- Shinjuku/Ueno/Akihabara/Shibuya

Nothing much planned for today.. as usual, i woke up late.. we met at Shijuku.. i found Burberry's Blue label.. well, wanted to get a bag.. but.. after some thoughts.. hmm.. nah.. the design's not very nice wor..
stood right behind the glass panel which seperate us with the driver.. it seemed rather easy to control the train...oops~

left Shibuya and went on to Ueno.. bought a bag, nail polish and a dvd *faint* but.. according to the picture, Lynn has more plastic bags than I have..i feel less guilty! *keke*
went to Akihabara after Ueno.. well, these 2 places Ernest and I had visited already..on the 3rd day i think.. or 4th? hmm.. we didn't really buy anything that time.. now we're back again.. Ernest and Bernard seems to have lotsa stuff to buy here! While the guys shop, Lynn and I just take cam whore around..
Had pepper lunch for dinner today.. they actually weigh the rice before serving us! How precise can they be man! give a few more grains cannot meh! argh~
asked for an egg.. left the place with pepper lunch smell on my coat *argh* as usual..
this is for Veron.. hee.. i went back to Shibuya to find a bag that i really want.. but the shops closed already...8plus only.. sobz.. will be back the next day! hmph!
saw this on the streets! Giving out free hugs! well.. wanted to go hug a japanese guy and one ang moh.. but.. bag hunting is more important.. so i gave the hugs a miss!
Shibuya's night view.. it's really Tokyo's fav. shopping spot.. so late and still so crowded!
a cabin with the station's name on it... "Shibuya"!..
I'm gonna have my hair cut tmr.. excited!

Japan -Day13- Ghibli Museum/Tokyo Tower

Set my alarm today at 650am.. as it's the time where Toru goes to work.. gotta wake up early to get the house keys from him.. my alarm rang... and his alarm rang too.. then he went toilet... i fell asleep..usually he'll bathe, and when he changes, i will wake up as he'll on the lights...etc... but today, i slept all the way til 8am.. and i can't seem to find him anywhere.. i woke Ernest up..and we realised that his wallet is still on the table.. suddenly, he appeared.. haha.. he's on top.. on his bed.. said that he's "sick" today and not going to work.. haha.. but Ernest and I think otherwise.. haha~
we continued to sleep..and woke up at about 1030am.. we heard noises and realised that Toru had just came back from dunno where.. he bought us breakfast! *weird* then.. he presented me with a pink envelope.. and i opened it... it's 3 tickets to the Ghibli Museum! 1000yen per ticket! His treat! he also bought a pants and 5 pairs of socks for himself.. hmm... finally, he told us it's his pay day today! haha.. no wonder.. anyway, it's so nice of him... then...Ernest went Harajuku by himself to buy some stuff while i stayed at home..Toru went out again.. and this time, he bought lunch! haha..

Ghibli Museum is so near his house..we walked there... and our visit to the museum is 4pm to 6pm.. they only allow 200 people per visit slot.. anyway, i'm thankful he got the tickets for us.. .coz we wanted to visit the museum on the first day in Japan, but he only got the tickets today... he explained that that time was holiday season, and it would be crowded...now when everyone goes back to sch and work.. the museum would be empty! weEEeEeeee~
Ghibli Museum is where they feature some famous animations like.. Spirited Away, Laputa.. etc.....
The ticket booth!! nah..it's a fake one...hee!
this is the real one.. gotta present our tickets to get in... and when we got in, gotta exchange our tickets for another ticket...it's like a film strip! once we got in, we went to watch a 20mins animation.. the characters are all from the animation Totoro...
too bad..they don't allow photo takings in the museum... can only take outside...
this museum is situated in Inokashira Park.. one of the famous park in Japan.. and the whole surrounding is very peaceful..and calm..and serene...
it makes you feel like you're part of the animation..haha.. walked around the exterior of the building..that's the only place you can take photos... sobz...
there's a cafe! Toru says after going one round the musuem, we'll come back here....
a peek into the cafe... looks expensive...hmm...
taking a lift up to the top floor.. the roof! to take photo with.....
a robot.. from the story Laputa.. everyone queued up to take photo with this robot.. i dunno why.. i haven't seen this animation yet...
anyway.. this photo is taken by Ernest! haha~ he's never interested in taking photos... but for this robot... ya... dunno why..hee~
the back view of the robot!...taken by me!...everyone takes the front view.. i thot we should take the backview too...anyway, Veron.. if you know this animation.. or if you have, maybe you can lend me..hee~
Ernest and Toru looking real hard at the rock... deciphering something.....
this! haha... i dunno what issit... it's also part of the story Laputa.. but dunno why, nobody takes photo of it.. so sad.. it's not as popular as the robot...
too dark.. took a photo with Toru at the roof top... so nice..the back drop.. sunset...
while walking down to the souvenier shop, we past by this bench! design is so nice.. but too cold to sit on it... brrRrrRR~
only for kids.. wanted to go in and take photos... but.. i'm not a kid.. sobz.. it looks like a cockroach! keke.. went to get some souveniers at the souvenier shop..and i spent like $60.. Ernest spent about $20.. and Toru bought some souveniers for QC and Veron! was very surprised when he told me that he bought something for QC and Veron.. he remembered that these 2 pals of mine entertained him back then when he came to Singapore and got him a card...etc..
went to the cafe.. presented with a Japanese Menu which i can't understand..then Toru asked for an English Menu...hee...
the cafe has a very classic feel...and it's warm and cosy inside here..wanted to take alot of other ornaments in the cafe, but Toru dun allow...bleah...
so i just hafta sit on my chair...and ZOOMED all the way... the capture this shelf on the wall.. so nice! like my Sylvanian doll house!
we ordered a very big pork cutlet sandwich.. and 2 strawberry shortcakes.. they are very very big.. 3 of us shared all of them together.. Toru offered to pay for the meal.. but i shoved the money to him.. think we should go dutch.. he bought breakfast, lunch and tickets for us... it's more than enough!
went to Tokyo Tower after that.. Toru went home.. he claimed that he's not feeling well..as he's coughing... he gotta work the next day too... so Ernest and I went ahead..to meet Bernard, Lynn and another friend Moreen...
walking nearer to the tower.. we're going up the the observertory tower... reminds me of Taipei 101.. hee.. but of course, Tokyo is not as high as Taipei 101.. Ernest wanted to climb all the way up..600 steps... they will present you with a certificate after the climb..but sad to say.. nobody's as "on" as him...hee~....
taken right under the tower! simply love my 7.2 mega pixels Olympus camera!
at the top of the tower... night view... in the day time, Mount Fuji can be seen from here...
at the top of the tower.... the whole place is dimly lit..
so it's very dark.. and there are many couples up here... We're wondering that it might be a good idea to pay like $15 to come up to the tower to kiss...haha...how 'romantic'...
more views... from the top of tokyo tower...
took this..as the roads resembles a star! see!? can you see it?! :)
there is a shrine at the observatory tower... many students come here to pray before exams... at the top of Tokyo tower...wow.........

there's a performance at the observertory tower too.. sad to say...my violin teacher plays the violin better! but the guitarist is really very good!
and i make it a point...to pee at the Tokyo Tower! aye..not everyone can use the toilet here you know...i took this in the cubicle...hee~
then took with Lynn...she decides to use the toilet too..
the 2008 on the tower will only be shown til 17th Jan... so it's like 'limited edtion'! There's a clearer picture in Bernard's camera though... anyway, he was lying on the floor while taking this shot for me! hee~
We had "Wendy's" for dinner.. looks gross.but my cheese fries's very very nice! we sat and chat for like almost an hour plus.. crapping and laughing throughout... it was a great night to spend with everyone..
We're meeting again tmr!
P/S: Toru bought a translation dictionary.. and the delivery time is 6pm to 9pm to his home.. so we suspect that he's not sick after all..he's waiting for his dictionary to arrive! hee~ it's a very sleek looking device.... very very nice!
