2008 Formula 1 Grand Prix First Ever Night Race !

For the intro, click on the link above. I'm too lazy to blog about it.. hee~ In short, I was there on 26th September 2008, Friday! YipeEe~

We can actually enter the F1 race village at 1pm. However, most of us have to work.. met Shaun at City Hall Mrt at about 5pm. We decided to have dinner before entering the race village. We presumed that the food and beverages in the village would be of exorbitant price! We share a foot long Subway sandwich. Soon after, Veron and Toru arrived. They went to walk around Raffles City, while Shaun and I went to Yakun for our dose of caffeine.
Finally QC, Veron, Toru, Shaun and I were ready to set foot into the village! Shaun took a photo of a BM.. to show his brother :) Also, there were many tentages in the village. Mainly..food. Of course, souveniers of the F1 race can be bought here. There'll be a practise session at 7pm. It's about 6plus when we entered the village. Yongjie came shortly after... We then walked together to the grandstand.. at the floating platform. That's exactly where we'll watch the race!

There were 13 of us altogether. However, we did not meet up with the other 7. Oh.. Forgot to mention, the ticket's from beloved Claire! *muacks*
On our way to the grandstand, we could already hear the loud drifting sound made by the F1 cars! Damn high can! Ear plugs and ponchos were on sale... but we came prepared! yeah! Here are some pictures of the racing tracks... and that's exactly where we'll be facing. There's 2 big-screen TV! weEeE~


We had ample of time to take photos of the surroundings.. with the CBD area as the backdrop.. nice~ Don't you think Shaun's green shirts blends rather well with the background? hee~ We're sitted at the green section! Seat 44/44 and 44/45! We were seated away from the rest of the group. Nevertheless, we met up at 830pm.. there's a one-hour interval before the next practise session begins! The practise sessions began with a bang! The sound made by the car... H.I.G.H! it's so loud! LOUD! L.O.U.D!~

Oh.. Here's the CBD contrasting shots taken by Shaun. One taken when the sky's still a little bright... the other's taken when the sky is dark~ nice! We were just commenting that it's actually very amazing that the track's set up in the city.. unlike other countries where there's greens all around..


He managed to take some shots of the big TV screen! so clear! We had our ear plugs on after about an hour of watching the practise session. The loudness seemed to get unbearable. We sat with the rest of the group for the 2nd session..at the blue zone.. and honestly, we were all rather tired by then..

Into the 4th week now.. still surviving.. the form teacher came back from reservist and my job's done! now.. taking over another teacher's duty as she just left the school.

found this on my table one afternoon.. Jowie left it on my table... so sweet of her loh! We've no time to eat at all.. busy marking all the assignments. Can you imagine, my red pen's outta ink already! and it's only the 4th week... Miss P was so excited one fine day..she told me she found this wonderful invention at popular.. she gave me and Miss O one each...look like plaster ya?
it's actually a rubber ring.. helps to flip the pages easier. I tell you.. it helps! Giving out worksheets in class's alot faster now.. and flipping the pages while marking's a breeze! Will get a packet for myself soon..and share it with Jowie!
Miss P confiscated a pair of binoculars during lesson. It's very farnee can! students actually used Binos to view the white board. It's a really clever idea i must say.. and the binos really work!

I had fun teaching in the school.. and i have a desk to myself now! yeah!~

almost 3 weeks.. and yesterday was the first time i stayed in school till 6pm! to mark 3 weeks load of assignments.. no joke! procrastinate till now.. imagine all the work i've given X 40 pupils *faint*

Made quite a few "friends" in the staff room.. got to know this teacher that plays the piano too! We had an agreement that we'll meet up in the music room to play a duet together! There's 2 pianos in the music room! yeah!

One of the HODs gave me this chocolate. She's the most gentle and caring lady in the school. Really! not because she gave me chocolate.. but the words she said to me. It's simply motivating. Well, all other teachers did advise me and talk to me abit about school life.. but this HOD simply touched my heart. Genuinely true.

I need chocolates! My supply of Kinder Bueno's long gone...

it's already been 2 weeks.. since i started teaching.. fast.. I'm in my third week and still surviving.. manageable.. but seriously lack of sleep. It's a good thing that i keep myself busy.. so that my mind will not wander around.. i used up every hour, every min, every sec that i can squeeze outta my 24 hours..

I'm on an anklet hunt. It's very frustrating.. because most accessories shop does not have a wide variety of designs to choose from.. if not, some shops dun even carry anklets at all! I think i still fancy those at Perlini's.. Tiffany and Co does not carry anklets.. poh heng,lee hwa etc all dun have leh.. sigh~ However, I saw one at AMK Hub.. at SK Jewelry.. they do have this design that caught my eye.. zig zagged chain and heart shaps all around~ cost $199 though.. compare to Perlini's... ANyway, i have a good mind to buy it myself.. this week...

Looking forward to this weekend.. 4 more days to go!

Me and my crazy idea.. i thot of carrying lantern around some gardens or parks.. coz, it's been a long time since I did just that.. was on a children's day 2 years ago i think..

Initially, it was just me and him.. but asked Veron and YJ along.. then so happened that Ernest and Valerie came too! and thunder!

Anyway, we managed to light up 5 lanterns i bought from AMK central.. and walked around the AMK Ave 4 little garden.. ya.. and we really walked one round~

Wanted to go Bishan Park.. but 哥哥 came back and asked for a mahjong session. Agreed! Thus, we just proceeded downstairs to play with the stuff i bought.

with the 2 little boxes of candles i bought, we managed to line up the steps of the staircase with them. Nice! Actually, Mid-Autumn's more of playing with candles than lanterns ya? hee~ It was really quite a pretty sight~

Should have brought along some mooncakes or some tea.. haha..

totally not used to waking up so freaking early in the morning.. it's been 5 years..since i woke up THAT early (unless i have a flight to catch).

Even in Poly, i dun wake up THAT early.

workload's fine..(won't even call it work).. it's the waking up early lah..

Thanks to ZW for morning call... and morning calls to come..haha~ Till my bio clock is tuned alright!

3.5 months to year end..oh my.. really fast. Time to plan for my year end trip.
